The Franklin Institute Awards have honored groundbreaking achievements in science and business for 200 years.
The Challenge: To modernize a certificate illustration that has been used for probably the last century without losing the original aesthetic but incorporate the Benjamin Franklin Memorial image instead of the cherubs and other outdated imagery.
The Solution: Highlighting key architectural details of The Franklin Institute building. Prominent among them are the Pantheon-style dome housing the Benjamin Franklin Memorial, complemented by intricate ironwork from the windows inside the Memorial Pendulum Staircase. The flourishes pay homage to the original design, blending tradition with a contemporary aesthetic.
This illustration is 100% vector, scalable and high-res. The Franklin Institute did not ask for this but I created the illustration with future use in mind for their 200 year anniversary. They can scale the original artwork to use on banners, signage anything they desire without worries of quality reduction.
